Hi all you Nikon users. Need some advice. Have a friend who owns a Nikon F65 SLR & wants a telephoto/zoom to shoot deer, perhaps a 400 prime or zoom. His job often takes him out to the bush where he gets reasonably close to deer but with standard lens cannot get close enough. His wife has asked me for some advice & wants to get him something for a Christmas present. Does not need to be new but something that will statisfy his desire to get some sweet shots.

Rob,
His options are...
300f4,no vr in this lense.
80-400VR, auto focus is slow for birds but just fine for deer, very sharp lense
The new 70-300vr,the only lense in this group that i havnt used but i hear good things about it. for the money its probably the best option.
hope this helps.
