More splashes. I've been playing with lighting and liquids.

It amazes me to see the variety that is possible if you're willing to persevere with a subject. One would have thought that all that could be achieved would have been by now, but each is a gem in its own right. Good on you Pam for continuing in this study!! They look like little jeweled crowns, and I like them a lot.

I like the lighting of #2 and #4.
These are fantastic Pam.

I refuse to play!
No matter how many times I look at these amazing images, I can not pick a favourite, or even a couple of favourites. They are all simply awesome! WTG, Pam

Fabulous Pam! :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:
How do you do the all black bit? Black water or post processing? For that matter, how do you get the mirror and reflection for all of these? The liquid must be very still or viscous?

Simply awesome. These are the best drop photos I've ever seen. I have no idea how you did it, but admire your skill.

These are so cool, hard to pic a favourite. But if I had too, it would be #4.

Thanks Ev. There is lots more to explore in this area and I'll keep experimenting!

Thanks Mao. It's nice to know what appeals to different people.

I guess I should have explained what a "splash" is vs a "drop". The splashes were created by dropping liquids into very small pools of liquid, 6-10 drops worth, which are sitting on a hard surface. The black bit is the black surface and black background and I directed the light. No post processing for that. The reflections are a matter of getting the light at the right angle to the surface and camera. It's what I have been experimenting with. The liquids are mostly paint and water for these and for such small amounts they sure splash all over everything! If you study how to light glass objects, you will get a good idea about the kinds of lighting you can play with.

Thank you very much!

Thanks Ann! #4 is so cool because it takes a second look to figure out what you are seeing.
