who will be the first Pixel-Shooter to get a D300 and/or D3?
Seems like the first shipment of the D300 is right around the corner. Hope to see some real life samples soon....very soon.... :brows:

I got offered a D3 by my dealer - first cab off the rank so to speak (when they come in). Only problem is, I have no Nikkor lenses! I wouldn't mind trying one out, just because. I just don't know if I want to PAY for one to do so... :)

I was going to order the D3 but little bird told me that they already have a replacement coming next year. So, I opted out and ordered the 1DSMKIII.

Sorry I didn't get a chance to post about it earlier, I had a pretty hectic day. My grandmother, who was in the hospital for the past few weeks, passed away tonight (we expected it so I'm dealing with it okay) so I didn't have a chance to do anything after I got the first few unboxing photos up on NikonCafe and DPR.
I'll start a new thread tonight or tomorrow with the unboxing and sample shots.

Sorry to hear of your loss, even if expected. Take your time and get us some shots when you can. Mine is on the UPS truck.

My condolence to you and your family Harrison. These are difficult times, so take care. I am sure the D300 can wait.
Re the D300, seems to be popping up everywhere around the world in a synchronised manner. Got a call from my local dealer who has one in my name, but I am abstaining for now, but not for too long. Also spotted in Malaysia, Singapore and I am sure the rest of the major centers around the world.
Regards,
Jonathan

Only if you're a wuss... :cry_1:
Yeah, that's probably true. I'm not a big fan of freezing but if you'd like to come to Florida in August we can see who wusses out first in the heat. :brows: ;)

No, thanks... I've spent enough time in the southern USA when it's been above 110 °F. You can always put on more clothes when it's cold, but there's a limit to what you can remove when it gets too hot... shocked;
And don't forget the humongous spiders they have where Kevin lives. I think I'd rather face a polar bear than one of those. Well, not really, but you know what I mean. :arghh:

Harrison, so sorry to hear about your loss.
My condolences to you and your family.
I'll be joining the D300 crowd too.
B & H had them yesterday so I ordered one.
It should be here next Friday.
That's none too soon since I've sent my D200 in for repair and its won't be back for a while.
