Finally got to take some photos with my new 300 f2.8 IS. Bought this back in June but I have hardly used it. Below are shot taken at the end of our traditional yearly Melbourne to Warrnambool Bike race. It is 268 KM in distance and takes these guys about 6 hours to do it (not exactly sure of the time). All the pictures are hand held and taken at F2.8.

Hey Perry!
I've seen some of these previously, so I will tell you what I told you last time - I like 'em! :)
Nice lens, I remember it! That was the reason why you called the cops to strip-search me before I left, wasn't it? rolleyes; :D

Thanks mate. Yes I haven't lost any of my lenses yet, just as well you are honest:D
BTW how's thinks with you? You have kept a really low profile in recent days

Life's keeping me a little busy, sorry about that! I'll have to have a few days off the week after next, so I might ring you and give you a hard time. Just don't make me laugh, I'll have some stitches that won't like it! :)

Nice to see you posting, Perry! So did you follow them the entire course and document the race? ;)
I love how that lens isolates so effectively. Your subjects just pop off the page.
Hope to see some more with this lens. :)

These are all top-notch!
I like the second one the best. The angle it was shot at really adds to the drama.

Thanks everybody. I was a bit worried about walking right in the middle of the road at the finish line to take these pictures. Took me some courage to do it in front of all those people. The police did not stop me as they thought I represented some media organisation with the big lens I was holding :)
