I am trying to assess interest in a workshop with Ron Reznick at the Bosque del Apache between mid-January to mid-February. Aside from being a nice guy, Ron provides a tremendous amount of information and hands on training. Although I have been shooting photos for some time now, I can easily say I learned a great deal in his workshop. He has a special talent for exposure and measuring the light... with the naked eye. Ron is a Nikon shooter, but is familiar with Canon and other systems. Half of the photographers at the workshop I attended had Canon gear. You can see his website at www.digital-images.net.
The Bosque is a beautiful place filled with tens of thousands of sandhill cranes, snow geese, and lots of raptors, roadrunners, coyotes, pheasant, geese, ducks, and quail. For birders, there are usually over a hundred species on site during the winter months. I saw elk there last year, and they have been reported again this year. There are other possible shooting locations, including the Ladd Gordon Waterfowl Complex and the Very Large Array within a short drive. White Sands is a little further away, but you could roll it all into one big trip! I think I may be able to work in some wild horse photography as well, if there is enough interest.
Price and dates will depend on number of folks interested. The workshop would have no more than nine participants, and be roughly $700, plus travel, lodging, and meals. Most likely it will be a 3-4 day event. If interested, please send me an email or PM, or respond to this thread. Let me know your level of interest, which dates work best, and any other questions. If this is a go, I'll also inquire about hotel preferences and try to make us group arrangements.
