Hi everyone,

Santa decided to drop off one of my presents early. Dunno why, maybe because I paid him for it... :D

As you know, Christmas is swimming season around these parts (hehe :)), and since Santa could not afford $3 k for an underwater housing for one of my DSLRs, he decided to drop off one that would fit my Canon G9 (what a guy! :D). I've wanted an underwater housing for quite some years, but never quite made myself spend the money for those little P&S ones, since they would only fit a dinky P&S! Luckily, the G9 is a P&S on steroids, so the decision was a little bit easier to make.

Arrived today, haven't had a chance to try it out yet. But be warned - there WILL be some interesting pics coming from me in the near future... we'll have to wait and see whether I can wrestle this beast underwater / in the surf. Either way, I'm looking forward to it! :D

P.S. Joe, Harv, Keith, et. al. - I thought I might take a trip up north and visit you guys and show you this in person, but I don't want to get a headache every time I try and dive underwater over there. From what I've heard, even my big head couldn't crack that ice! :biglaugh:

Here she is...

Wow! That looks like a pretty serious piece of gear. Rudi, don't worry about headaches... I'm sure you could use this to break the ice. Enjoy the new toy.

Neat toy, we use plastic bags! Of course the images are soft, but for self portraits thats an advantage.

I'd love to get up the reef, but it won't be this summer, Bobby. rolleyes;

Not sure if I'd buy it just for that. :) Although... it would still be the cheapest underwater high-quality setup that I can think of!
