Yep. Wasn't hard, was it? :D
Was feeling a little brave after the Macworld announcements, so ended up bringing a new 15" Macbook Pro home today. LOVE the new LED-backlit screen! Finally a laptop that comes close to my desktop as far as displaying photos accurately... :)

Congratulations Rudi, on the new Macbook Pro! It's a terrific computer to be sure. :cheer:
I have been wanting one for some time now but still haven't made the switch from a PC platform. What was the announcement from Macworld that encouraged you to take the plunge now?

Sure is! I had the Macbook (the original, first-gen Macbook) before this, so it's a nice upgrade! :cheer:

I was just making sure that the specs weren't going to be increased, or the price reduced. Seeing that neither was the case, I made the jump. :)

Apple spammed me the other day about that. Nice and light and thin but a bit of a fashion statement, it has no optical drive, small hard drive and a slower processor than the current generation of Macbooks and Pros. I almost spewed when I watched the demo, it tells you you use a Windows PC to install software on the Air if you don't have the optional wireless DVD drive :). We won't be trading in out MacBook anytime soon :).

I think the point they were making is that you can use any computer to install software on the MBA, not just a Mac. That is the elegant thing about the MBA - you can "borrow" (use) the optical drive of ANY computer on the network! :)
