Ralph before his shave. As soon as the weather gets warmer, it all comes off...

Better not show my wife Ralph's pic. She's always wanted an Old English Sheepdog. What a fluffball!!

And not only that, they don't want to borrow your camera.shocked; ; Nice big dog Rudi. Which reminds me my friend has asked me to ask you if you have a picture of you King Charles standing, so she can see how big your dog is.

They're cute, but they're also strong! And not too bright! This combination sometimes results in property damage and injuries... :D But apparently, Ralph is big, even for his breed - 41kg (90lb) of muscle, enthusiasm and drool! :)

Thanks Harv! :)

Yep! Although there IS the backyard problem... crap; :D

I'll see what I can find, otherwise I'll just have to take one! :) But he's not that big...

Rudi:

I just love this pic, especially in the b/w.All the times we used to shave our Old English, and I mean SHAVE, I never got used to seeing her without her hair...they sure do look different, don't they?

You mean, like a big wet rat? :D

Ralph gets a shave with the electric shears, no spacer on them, so it's a pretty close shave (it's like suede when it's finished :)). The only problem - his face has to be done by hand, because he does not have the patience to stay still, so what you end up with is a dog with nice short hair everywhere but his head - his head looks like he has a skin disease - it's all different lengths and mangy-looking! It's hilarious! I'll have photos. :D

Rat? Yes, but our dog was unusually long legged and she looked like an oddly colored Wolfhound when we got her back. I used to laugh because people would ALWAYS ask, what kind of dog she was after she got shaved.

They have surprisingly THIN legs when they're shaved! :)

Ralph has had his shave earlier today. I could not get there with my DSLR gear, so Helen did her best to capture the silly dog with a little P&S Canon camera that she has. Unfortunately (for Ralph, anyway), this was one she snapped before his head was shaved. He got away from her and stood there in the door, taunting her, not realising how funny he looked with all of his body shaved, except his head. So, here he is, for your viewing pleasure. Just as well that he does not know how to pick up the phone and report Helen to the authorities! :D

Rudi, tell Ralph I know a good lawyer.

Will pass that on to Ralph, Bob. I'm afraid his attention span ain't that great, though, and he does not make a very good material witness in court! :D

He's just a skinny dog in a big dog's coat. :)

Alright, since Ralph is beyond humiliation now, here are some others that Helen snapped during the shaving process (shaving process = a series of short shaving sessions interspersed with attempted and/or successful escape attempts by the dog in question :D).

Got away a little earlier:
