I was able to get a job at Mosport this summer shooting the bikes. This was the only wipeout I was close enough to get shots of.

I like the last one as all the sponsors show up well.....snicker, snickerbanana;
I like my Sigma 50-500 but really love the sigma 70-200 f2.8 for speed and sharpness...
Some say the focus on the 50-500 is a little slow but as you show here it is up to the job...

Thanks for the comment Ron, much appreciated. When I bought this lens, I had no intention of using for the high speed motorsports. I was thinking wildlife all the way. But when I was asked to go and shoot these bikes, I couldnt turn it down. I was pretty happy with the lens' peformance and I have enough bike shots to last a lifetime.

Cool series of action shots. That had to be a major ouch. Lots of detail and the lens looks like it worked out just fine. Good job.

Great sequence Art. I have ridden motor cycles my whole life. Still currently ride and love it. Did this start as a high side or low side get off?

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated. After this guy stopped flipping around, he layed there for about 20 seconds not moving. Then he got up, walked over to the wall and sat down. I went over and asked if he was ok, there were track marshals and an ambulance coming over. I asked what happened, he said after he came off turn 8, his motor seized and thats what caused the wipeout. I said that was too bad, but I told him I got pictures. He bought them:)

Thanks for looking Ann, I was glad he was ok too. I thought about that when I was out there and saw my first wipeout. I don't think I would have been into taking shots of someone and then finding out they were seriously injured.
