I just want to make sure I'm understanding this techie stuff right...does the 55-200VR have a farther "reach" as for as zoom goes, or the 70-200....if I had to choose only one, which would be the best to add to complement my 18-55VR?
Thanks folks!

Not sure what you mean by farther reach, they are both 200mm at the long end.
If money is not an issue buy the 70-200 2.8. Its a killer lense and you have the option of using a converter with it, cant with the 55-200.

Josee,
The 70-200VR is a fabulous professional lens with exceptional image quaility throughout it's range. With a TC14EII teleconverter the range is extended without significant loss to image quality...highly recommended. If I had to sell my lenses and could only keep one, it would be the 70-200. It's extremely versatile and excells at everything from portraits (many pros have discovered the excellent results using it close up), landscapes, wildlife and street shooting. Add a Canon 500D closeup lens and you've also got a great macro lens. It's a little heavier, and a more costly acquisition, but it's a life-long lens.
Try one at your local store and I'm sure you'll have a tough time leaving without it.:)

70-200VR. Both Nikon and Canon have one of these in their stable, and in each case it's one of their best zooms, if not the best zoom that they make. This one is a no-brainer, if you have the cash. If you don't... save up a little bit longer. :)
