Late last year I posted a thread in this forum showing my photos of a River Otter catching a Flounder on the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Here's a link incase you missed it:

What a great morning.
Unsurpassable.
...Or so I though!

:brows:

Shortly after that encounter, I went up north to a small lake in Haliburton, Ontario cottage country. I woke up at dawn and canoed out into a misty morning. This is what greeted me:

Good morning :) :) :)

Caught a fish

Not a Flounder, but it'll do ;)

I think he was trying to dislodge a fish bone. Sounded worse than a cat with a furball!

It was certainly a morning to remember.
Thanks for looking.

Great pictures. You know what they say, the early bird catches the worm. And you did that with these pictures.

Wow! These are good. No! They're sensational. You've captured cottage country at it's best. The comp in #2 needs a wee bit of free space to the left. Paint this one David and we'll change your last name to Bateman. You're already as good as he is, now.

Thanks Glenn. Hope it happens for you too!

Great pictures. You know what they say, the early bird catches the worm. And you did that with these pictures.

Thanks Ellen. I love waking up early in cottage country. It's the best way to have an entire lake to yourself.

Thanks Jonathan. Hope to cross paths with them again this summer. :)

Thanks Paul. I REALLY got lucky that morning. I left them alone before they left me.

Great set, David. Shot #2 is awesome! In my opinion, it's perfect as is.

Thanks Harv. Most of the shots filled the frame. Very little cropping done. Hope to post some new shots of them this summer. (fingers crossed)

Thanks Buddy. But what kind of deal is that?? Throw in a couple Red-necked Grebes and an Oldsq- I mean Long-tail, - and I'll think about it. ;)

Awesome David, what a wonderful find.

Thanks Bobby. It sure was.

General note:
Sucks that the misty morning/low light had me shooting the whole sequence at ISO 1600!!! The noise isn't too bad, but enough to make me wish I was a better photographer. Many of you PixelShooters would have REALLY capitalized in my situation.

Thanks for the comments everyone.
