There is an 8 gig Ridata CF card for $106 that says it's 150 times.
I've seen one comment, I forget where, that Ridata cards were good ones, but at that price I wonder ???
Anyone here have any thoughts?
I was thinking of buying one for my son-in-law as a b'day gift and I'd hate to give him a bummer card --- besides, as long as I'm paying shipping I figured I'd get one for myself at the same time. It's my birthday in a few months.

Sheldon,
Ridata cards were all I used until recently, when I purchased 4GB Sandisk Ultra II's at a great price. I will always recommend Ridata, they have never given me any problems, and if this special came up before I got my Ultra II's I might have been tempted. In a way I'm glad that it didn't, since I prefer the 4GB size to 8GB, I just don't need cards that big (yet :)).
At that price, if you're looking for more CF storage, they're hard to pass up. And Ridata is a GOOD brand, so don't let the price fool you! :D

Thanks Rudi, I'm putting in my order!
Sorry I took so long to send this thanks. Been up to my ears in alligators with no time to drain the swamp.
Cheers ....

Sheldon these ridata is cheap at that price. I too have used these cards and Rudi is correct, it is good and reliable. I actually ordered 2 x 8gig ridata myself a few weeks ago
That said some of the sandisk cards are coming down real quick

Rudi, Perry, the cards have arrived and seem to be perfect. In the end what I did was buy four of the four gig ones, rather than two eight gig ones. Not sure why, but after two gig cards, eight seemed like a lot of eggs in one basket. No doubt after I get used to four gigs I'll be happy trusting eight. I remember the trauma of going from 256K to 512K and a one gig card!
I gave two of the four gig cards to my son-in-law for his birthday and he was thrilled and kept two for myself, and I'm also thrilled.
I've not yet downloaded the 14 gigs of photos from my Antarctic trip to the computer and all I had around were a few old 256 and 512 cards. Now I'm back in business --- and I can keep putting off dealing with all those pictures from the trip.
Thanks for the push to Ridata Rudi and the support Perry.
Cheers, Sheldon

They NOW show $84.99 :arghh: :arghh:
I have used RiData for about 6 years now, and they are great. Just might have to grab another 4 gb or two at these prices.
Look at Sandisk, they are saying 30-40% price drops, market is tough, real tough, good for us though ......

Congrats on your cards. Memory are so cheap now, it cheaper to buy more of them than having mobile hard disk units. The ridata cards are even cheaper again. The 8 gig is now only $84 each and will get even cheaper as there is a memory glut

Yes they are. I can now purchase 8 gig Sandisk extreme III cards for about US$161 here in Australia. Thats cheaper than getting form B&H even after rebates
