Well, guess what, I lost about 500 images taken from the start of the main feature race... :arghh:
I had a Coolwalker with me, and I dump the CompactFlash card content there before reformatting and reuse. The battery was running low, so it must have given up halfway through the transfer of a 2 Gb card. I did have a spare battery in the bag...
What is even more frustrating is that I did notice the battery was low, but thought it would be sufficient for another transfer. I usually just leave the Coolwalker in the bag while it is transferring, and auto-shutdown when done. When I powered it back on, it still had one bar of the battery indicator, so I thought the transfer must have been done. But obviously not...
Moral of the story - watch the damn thing while it is transferring, or double check the Coolwalker content before reformatting the CompactFlash card! And change the battery especially if you have a spare one handy...!
So, until I feel better about the whole saga, I will do some painting instead...

I will update the Australia/Canada/USA threads when I have them processed (what's left of them), couldn't be bothered for now... :disgust:
