I was messing with my new camera & the 85 lens as my daughter waited for her ride to school. She was in a foul mood and I asked her to turn around and smile. This was the best she would muster...two seconds later she was out the door. No flash, just the light from the window...ISO 50...never had that option before. :)

Anyway...here is my first "portrait" shot with a Canon....Always seeking constructive criticism, it's how we all learn.

Randy....... maybe if you tell her that you will pay her for posing, it will put a smile on her face. Samrolleyes; rolleyes; rolleyes;

Nothing to be critical of here.... it's a fabulous shot. Not only is the execution great, you caught the expression perfectly. Well done, Randy. I love the shot.

You have a beautiful daughter Randy, nice shot! Maybe if you show her how much we like her picture that will make her smile! :cheer:

Sweet shot Randy, the best photos are not always the smily ones.

Beautiful Randy..everything about it, composition, clarity, bokeh, even the expression on her face...she really is trying hard not to smile.... everything.

Great, natural portrait. Nothing to suggest, Randy, except keep using that 85mm ( a helluva lens for the money!).

Looks like your Canon adventure is going to be a good one... :)

Randy, a smile may have ruined it. As it is, it is a fabulous portrait. I'm no critic, but for me the shot is perfect and I think the cropping is inspired. I'd never have thought of it and it really sets her off. Congratulations!
