My dad and I went out again yesterday, I shot my 20d and 400mm f5.6. Dad spent lots of time explaining what to do, why, metering, changed some settings, and had me changing ev compensation which I still not sure I get  but I think I am getting better. My battery died twice yesterday, right at the wrong times , must have been too cold :disgust:

Mitchell, hang on to your hat. Number three could qualify as the shot of the year. WOW! There's a tremendous amount of quality in that shot. What a pose. Well done.

Congratulations Mitchell. These are all wonderful. Fantastic, actually. Your dad better watch it. You'll be showing him how next year!

Cheers, Uncle Sheldon, master hunter of the viscious Manitoba snowy owl, which explains why in several years of trying he's never got a single shot that comes close to Mitchell's delete ones.

Mitchell, these are absolutely awesome. Wow! Take a bow, young man... you deserve it. Incredible shots. I hope your Dad is planning on printing and framing at least one of these for you. #3 should be hanging on your wall.

Well Mitchell, as they say in other circles, you are now a "Made man" you've made your bones. These are all good but number 3 is absolutely stunning. I hope Dad will see that this gets done in a large print. Very, very good young man.

I like your crop on the first shot. The second is good but needs something else in the frame besides the owl. The third is outstanding because it has that something else the second didn't have, the owl taking off from the snow. Very good stuff.

If these are from your 2nd outing, I wonder what your next outing will bring you. #3 is incredible, Mitchell, really!! I'm surprised your dad didn't try to steal that shot from you and post it as his own. (don't tell him but I think you've already passed him up as the master owl photographer!) ;)

Mitchell well done. You have some fantastic pictures there. And I have never even seen a Snowy Owl. I am so jealous.
