This is technically my 2nd day of shooting the surfers (my first day was out on Sunday). The lighting was a bit more harsh this day, as it was in the middle of the day as opposed to the day before where the sun was beginning to set and lighting the front of the surfers, but I did what I could. C&C welcomed.

Only thing I don't like about this series is that big photo gap between pictures 2 & 3. I'm not sure what happened there, but I still like it. Let me know what you all think.

This is a darn good series Adrian. If you didn't have any photo gap at all you would have a movie. Only kidding and i know what you mean. Good shooting though. One nitty picky thing and only my opinion. How about removing the little annoying boats in one and two.

Great series of action shots, Adrian. As for the gap between 2 & 3, I'm not sure about how the 1D is set up, but on my 1D MkIIn, one of the settings on high speed continuous provides for the photographer to time the release of the first shot but after that it won't release the shutter until the camera has locked focus on successive shots. It can be set up to your liking in custom functions. Check your manual. I believe it's called drive speed priority in AIServo. If it's disabled, it needs to be in focus to shoot. If enabled, it will release the shutter even if not in focus. Hope this helps.

Great action series Adrian, I think you have handled difficult lighting very well. Congrats.

Funny, I was thinking how cool the boats/ships in the background were in the first couple of shots. See how you never know what someone is going to like?
Nice action shots, Adrian. Seems like you're really enjoying your new machine!!

Hee Hee difference of opinion is what keeps photography alive Kevin. e.g. on #1 crop an inch below the boats and see what a difference that makes.

Great series Adrian... Agree with Harv.. Check your C.Fn for the focus lock disable.

Adrain, nice series. If it were me after the first two shots I would say something like .... "It looked like it was going to be a normal ride, so I took my eye off him for a minute and the next thing I knew he was grabbing air so I got right back on him and got these shots...." as they say ... never let the audience see you sweat......
