Starting to think about picking up some extra memory, if not now, then soon. Typically, Im a stick to what I know and trust kind of guy. That means Sandisk Ultra II or Extreme III. 2 gig cards for these run 140.00.

Happened to see some Lexar 80x 2 gig for 70.00ish. Dont know squat about them though, but I do see them mentioned from time to time. Anyone use Lexar cards?

Write speed is important to me, hence why I use Ultra or Extreme. As these will be back up gigs I dont mind a slower card but still want reliable etc.

TIA for any thoughts.

I've used Lexar professional series CF cards for years. I’ve got 16, 40, and 80x right here on my desk. I just started using a 1gig card with the MKII this week. No problems. I paid $35.00 for the card.

My 1gig Lexar 40X has served me well for over three years, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. I think the speed advantage of the newer cards mostly comes into play when downloading to the computer, camera performance doesn't seem any better with my Extreme III card over the Lexar 40X and my Ultra II cards, at least when I do jam up the buffer I don't notice it clearing any quicker.

Thanks :)
I figured theyd be fine, and for that price (half the cost of Ultra's) its hard to argue against.

I've got a couple of 1gig Lexar 80x and one 2gig Lexar 80x and one 1gig 133x Lexar cards. The 2gig card I bought was one of those listed as incompatible with Canon (based on lot #) but Lexar gladly replaced it no questions asked. Never had an issue with any of them.
