My # 3 son Nicholas ( Nick ) went out with Ron and myself today to take some photos along the north shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota.
This is one of his very first images using my D70 and 17-55 f/2.8

I do believe the boy has an eye for composition! He certainly has some creative abilities. Hopefully he'll continue with this new found interest. ( His motivation is that he's going to Europe in April - May and he wants to borrow my camera! )
As Ron can attest he appeared to have gotten "the bug"!

p.s. I'm posting this through my membership because we couldn't see how to add a second member via this computer ( cookies have taken over!!!!)
Is there a way of registering him without having to delete cookies and my auto pass words? Any techies out there?

Thanks in advance

He does have creative abilities. That's a good one for his first one. And good luck in Europe.

Convey my appreciation of the shot to Nick Bob, he does indeed have an eye for composition. And, like Ann, I like the footprints in the snow. Makes you try to envision who walked there. Give him the camera and get the new 1dn3

You should be able to click the "logout" link then have him log in with his own credentials.

Great job with your shot, Nick! Keep at it and you'll be ready for your European trip. I'm envious of your opportunity. I've been there a few times and did have my camera but now that I've gotten "Serious" I'd love to retrace my steps.

How far down the coast did you travel in MN? I have an aunt and uncle in Silver Bay. :)

Thank ye kindly for the comments. I personally enjoy the wondrous aspect conveyed by the footprints. It was certainly a fun experience and I'll be sure to share my pictures of Europe when i travel this spring/summer. ~Nick Tkaczyk

Thank ye kindly for your comments. I agree, the footprints do offer a mysterious or wondrous aspect to the image, and I'm glad you picked up on that. I'll ensure that my pictures of Europe are shared with the forum when i travel there this spring/summer. ~Nick Tkaczyk

Thank ye kindly Kevin, and yes, It's about time i traveled somewhere farther than Toronto or Minneapolis! We went as far as Grand Marais, and stopped by a great Sandwich-hut by the name of "The Crooked Spoon". I had quite the beef-injection of a burger! I'll ensure that i share my pictures of Europe with the forum when i visit there this spring/summer. ~Nick Tkaczyk

Ahhh...just to clear up any mystery to the "wonderous" footprints...( Nick has a whimsical side ) The footprints were Ron's....

Good start. :cheer: :cheer: Start them young. Two of mine have an interest but it's not high priority yet. My youngest son has my D100 and my daughter still uses a Canon P & S. She has expressed an interest in stepping up to a DSLR. She keeps hinting about her up coming B-Day.:biggrin: :biggrin: rolleyes;

Well done Nick ...
You are off to a great start. Two of my boys have taken an interest in Photography as well. It certainly is easier for you young folks when the equipment is readily accessible. Good luck and have a great trip. Maybe we'll meet before you go..

Nice shot. I can never get up the energy to go out and take pictures here in Minnesota in the winter, so cold and I get so lazy. :P
