I couldn't tell in the first one but you gave away the secret in the second one. They are studded tires. Cheaters. Great shots though. Was it an overcast day?

Thanks Joe. Yes it was overcast. Not too cold temp wise, but with that wind off the lake it was just brutal...

The reason I asked. The sharpness is there but when the sun is shining the colours on the bikes are dazzling. Makes me want to get my bike on the road. Guess I'll have to wait like the rest.

Great stop action shots!!! Lately pics seem to be Honda vs Kawasaki. Are they the popular bikes for this?? Of course I am assuming Kawasaki is the green one!

Not so sure about the wheelies but your capture of them is great. I always get a pit in my stomach seeing a wheelie after a motorcyclist died in front of me showing off and popping wheelies down the road. He plowed into the side of a pickup truck doing about 60mph. The truck never saw him coming when he made his turn. I was on my way to lunch and couldn't eat that day. Still makes me cringe whenever I see a wheelie.

These are great action shots. Isn't it fun working in this weather?

You could stud your tires Joe..

Thanks Ann.. You are right Hondas and Kawies mostly, but there are a couple of KTMs as well. No Yamahas this year...

Thanks Kevin. No doubt that is an aweful experience. Good thing there are no trucks on the track when they do this..

Thanks Mao.. It was just plain nasty on the lake today. Even the racers didn't stick around long today

Beautiful action shots Jeff, studs on ice make for better traction than normal rubber on asphalt. And by the way on the way down to Amherst with Mao I saw a large sign saying, maintenance on the Hwy (401) by "Thousands will die"

Thanks Harv.. You are too kind... I just try and do the best I can in given circumstances (like crappy light)..

Thanks Bobby.. It is amazing how they can hook on ice so slippery we can't walk on it..

LOL so you caught that did you... Unfortunately their lack of snow/ice removal on the roads out here has been blamed for a number of major accidents.
