Welcome to my world, Robert. Mine often have the bird de-capitated.

Harvey, I purposefully left out the decapitated birds, of which there are plenty.:)

Au contraire, Robert......I'd say you did a fine job. All this one needs is a branch or two at the bottom of the picture......I sure have a few I can give you ;)

Robert you are now in the club, trying for the elusive small bird bif. Keep at it and good things will happen. I need a 30 FPS and 200 buffer camera.

I'm sure the bif's will be more fun when the weather warm's up. we are enjoying eleven inches of new snow and 25 mph winds. Makes camera shake a real issue.

lmao; that's for sure.....the 40+ mph winds are making snowdrifts which LOOK like 11 inches of snow no way to tell exactly what we are getting....I thought it was over.

Robert, I have pretty much the same birds as you do along with the same issues. It doesn't help that they are so close as well, so that any amount of movement is just a big blur. I've gotten a couple of Blue Jay's in flight (with massive sharpening they are passable) but only because I closed my eyes and shot....that seems to work better for me;) I have only recently discovered the continuous shooting mode (duh!) and I'm hoping that will make a big difference.
