New member here. I really like people pictures and I like the work that I have seen on this forum. I would like to share my first "lucky" portrait (I have had horrible luck in my 7 years shooting) as my first picture post. Constructive criticism requested. I personally can't decide if I should crop off the top off the head some.

Welcome aboard.
Interesting post production on this photo, I like it. I would crop of some of the top off for two reasons: your eyes are naturally drawn to the bright patch of hair and the boys eyes are too centred in the image.

I look forward to seeing more of your photos.

Oooo, I like the PP'ing done on this one. Very cute little face!

This is a really nice portrait, and though I ordinarily like grain that has been introduced, I find this to course for such a tender and young face. Otherwise delightful!!

I really like this photo as is. The eyes are drawn naturally to the little guys eyes. I find the grain to be complimentary to the image. I assume you have played around with a variety of PP techniques and you chose this one. If you like it and it was your favourite that is the criterium that is the most important.

I missed this shot yesterday as the pic didn't load when I first looked. Glad I came back today to have a peek. Nicely done. I like the grain and the shot overall.

Since you asked, if it were mine, I'd crop about the top 25% off the shot.

Very nice image and great post processing. I love the exaggerated graininess. :)

As for cropping, I'd crop at least from the top past the blown patch of hair. Doing a crop on my monitor just by scrolling the image, that seemed to help. I personally always try to get the eyes at the "thirds" line, with some exceptions.

Thanks for the suggestions on the crop. Here is the new version:
