This is my blooper from yesterday. Could have been a nice shot. Was concentrating on getting the eyes sharp. :arghh:

You know my dear I wish I could feel sorry for you but I can't. It's still a good sharp shot. On the other hand I'm looking for a little sympathy. I had a really good BIF going and something happened to his head. He flew out of the frame. Now there is something to be feeling bad about.

I think we all have had that happen, ive got a deer shot with perfect pose and background and the light is just beautifull............ cut his legs off, just exactly what happens to my brain in moments like that isnt clear, but its really annoying. I feel your pain.

Eric I suppose you are right about the feet. it's just we used to have this commercial, my legs, my legs were are my legs. So it struck me as funny. But of course you would not know about it.

Sorry Mao, I only take pictures of birds of the feathered variety. At least the title made you look.

Ellen, I'm surprised at you!

You know the first rule of creative photography: Cheat

Crop this so only the head and neck show. You've got so much detail there it will look full frame. I think if you put the head on the angle it's at with the bill/beak tip in the lower right hand corner, this would be a terrific shot! Or, it might be awful, Lord knows my artistic eye is such that I think high fashion is what I get when I follow the "Attention K-Mart Shoppers," announcement directing me to the men's department.

This is still excellent for the detail! (I've done that so many times too...trying to get the eye sharp!) I like it :)
