Well we are getting allot closer, and to see if this is a go Im looking for confirmation of those interested and will make a deposit, as the hotel rooms need to be booked to ensure we have a roof over our head :) Sorry my home is 4 hours away one way rolleyes; will stay in Banff two nights (actually just outside in a town called Canmore), and Jasper 1 night. Will try and get rooms with 2 double beds.
Date we are looking at is June 21st , 22nd, 23rd (3 nights-3 1/2 days shooting) . the week after is the long weekend and is an ugly week with all the tourists. We are in prime time, so it does get more expensive, so that is something to seriously consider. Fall is half the price (late Sept/Oct) and not busy. So if fall interests you more, please state. We are easy either way.
Focus will be on landscape and wildlife. Most babies should be born in the park, ton of elk/sheep, will see black bear, if lucky grizzley, mountain goats to name a few.
So please if you know for sure your in, post so we can get a sizing. I believe on the previous pole we had 7 for sure wanted to come, but lots of maybe's
What say you :D

My wife and I will be in Saskatoon ( of all places ) June 11th - 14th so would need to plan somewhere else to go for a week before the June 21st meet.
Maybe head over to B.C. or across the border into the Dakotas?
p.s. how far away by vehicle is Banff from Saskatoon ( of all places)!

It's about 465 miles. Once you hit Calgary it's a nice trip after that. :biglaugh:

South west Saskatchewan, the grasslands, Old Man On His Back, etc. is some of the most spectacular landscape in the world at that time of year. Penny and I spent a June week there a couple of years ago and it is one of the best trips we've ever made. Check it out. Saskabush is full of fantastic places.

Keith, I think a trip with Pixel Shooters such as you suggest would be wonderful, but it is 99 percent unlikely I'd be able to do it this spring. Between work, a dying mother in law, grandchildren, and opening the cottage, I can't see June for myself this year.
However, if you're going, and if at the last minute I'm free, and if there's room I may just jump on the tail end.
Good luck! Have fun! Happy shooting!

Fall seems to be theme at the moment, Im ok with that, no biggie, just might have to plan my hummingbird trip this year, I know that will make my sis happy ;)
I just came back from Banff and Jasper with Peter today, and have to say for landscapes, pretty tough to beat what we just saw now, and lets say I have been there a time or two!!! Wildlife was the lowest I have ever seen there, that time of year, but for scenery, sun was shining, fresh snow every where , it was spectacular!!!!

Tibet? Tibet? I didn't get a notice about a Tibet trip!
Haaarrrruuuph!
I'm not hurt. Oh no, not in the least. Nothing but unspoiled mountains, monks and fabulous photo opporunities. Same old, same old.
Still, it would be nice to be on the list ......
Oh well. Next time? Please?
Anyways, have a fabulous time Pam. Take lots of cards, spf45 sun cream, and a wide angle. In case I wasn't clear, I envy you big time!

Thanks - I'm sure it will be a fun trip :) Got to practice up big time before then so I can take the best shots possible. I'll be at high altitude for a lot of the trip and that combined with weather and possible sickness can make it a struggle to think through the shots.
Any hints or advice would be welcome! rolleyes;
