Nice day, Slightly overcast with the sun popping in and out.....
You would have thought everything was good....
But, as Cal was borrowing my tripod, everything was handheld
This guy forgot to comb his feathers

And with a 50 to 500 zoom you would think that everything would be in frame....

and

and last but not least....

Well hopefully next time I will get to use my tripod and learn how to zoom....:wacko::wacko:

Ron, why did you post them in bloopers? care to tell me what went wrong there? They look awesome to me. One and three are spectacular. If three is a little soft for your liking (and I know it is) it sure has a nice mood atmosphere. From all us hand holders, welcome to the club.

Actually, I like them other than the clipped wings in all the flight shots. They were too close and I didn't zoom out enough....They are all full framed shots just resized for the web. Also, other than just a little usm they were straight out of the camera.
As for posting them here, there are always eagles around this area so I will hope to get some nice clear sunny shots to post later...
ps we are all our own worst critics....;)

Boy! do you have that right. We must get some perverse kick out of beating our own heads against a wall.

Ok, here's my truthful opinion on this Ron.
Anytime I get an opportunity to get a certain species and the gear wasn't quite up to the task - I'm just thankful that I got an opportunity to witness it first hand with my eyes and secondly the capturing of it in images is a bonus.
So, for my own collection, these would have been a great addition.

You're right about us being our own worst critics, Ron! Dunno what that's all about, but that's the way it is. :)
Nice eagle captures, despite what YOU might think of them! :D

What rudi said.
Once again both Rudi and Paul got it right!
Wonderful eagle pictures. We've got eagles around our cottage and I spend hours every week trying to get an eagle picture a fraction of what you've got here. Of course, I'd have trouble taking a decent shot of a parrot in a Monty Python skit, but still these are terrific shots.

Thanks Joe... My wife keeps entering these "silly photo contests" with my pictures that I wouldn't normally print or post. They keep turning in favorable results, much to my dismay at having my wife right yet again...

Thanks Mao, My first impression seems to be right most of the time when taking pictures, but then I get home and seem to talk myself out of what I saw in the first place...

Thanks Rudi, Guess I will just have to post more and let the judges and juries decide:notworthy:

Very Nice Ron... You are too hard on yourself. Nice captures, maybe not perfect, but better then what I got and certainly better then nothing..

Thanks Jeff, I am sort of tongue in cheek saying that they are not good , but I am waiting for some a little better to print..

Thanks Rob, I have quite a few of similar shots, but like I said above, am waiting for a little better to print...
And for anyone who would like to come up and take pics on a Sat, or a Sun, I would love to share the eagles and show you around....
