Lap top screen question

I use a HP ZD8000 laptop and the screen has got 2 vertical lines in it (one just popped up today, the other one has been there for a month). I think I'm going to have to replace the screen.

Has anyone got a parts company that they have used before and can recommend? Also, has anyone changed one out? Is it something I can do? I've changed parts on a desktop many times but never tried it on a laptop.

Well, I bit the bullet and installed the new screen. It was a relative easy process that just about anyone could do with 1 jewelers screwdriver.

I can recommend Laptopscreen1 through ebay as an excellent source for the part.

Were they vertical yellow lines? I had one for a short time, but did a update for Windows and the HP software and after i rebooted it again they disappeard. I have not seen them since...

They were, and I tried that stuff and they were still there, changed out the screen and they were gone. I also noticed that the new one was much brighter, so my old one was probably going out,
