I have been using the Dark Light sharpening but when I got the 30D when I run it, either on full size or cropped images, it seems to grossly increase the noise in the shot. Any idea what's going on with that?

E.B. this process targets fine detail so if any sharpening or resizing has been done prior to this method oversharpening hence increased noise will occur.
Are you using this method on Raw or Ljpegs..?
The prescribed settings are best on unsharpened Raw and unsharpened (sharpening at 0 in parameters) Large Jpegs. Using this method on cropped images is OK as long as the DPI is not being changed in the crop process (DPI window in the upper Crop tool bar is left blank). For best results this method should be done before any other PP and definitely before any resizing..

OK, I'll work on it a little more.
I'm converting the RAW to jpeg and going form there.

Are you using PS CS2 for your RAW conversion?

Sorry, didn't see this question. Yes, I'm using CS2 for the RAW conversion.
