Canon Double rebates begin 10-15-06

Rebates on 30D and 5D bodies, plus lenses and flash units.

If you buy two different items, you get double rebate for each item. The lens rebates arent' that big, even doubled, but the bodies get pretty good.
The doubled rebate on the 5D is $600
The doubled rebate on the 30D is $200.

Not too bad.

And I checked, the 300 f/2.8 does not have a rebate.:( Although the 300 f/4 L does have one.

Yep. My local dealer told me about this rebate program a couple of days ago. Starts in Canada on Oct.13 and the rebates are the about same converted to Canadian dollars here.

I have the lens list as well as other accessories that are on the program such as grips, flashes and grip kits.

That's a pretty substantial rebate on the 5D. I noticed that B&H had already dropped the price of a new 4D to $2750, so with a $600 rebate it's down to $2150. :eek:

I guess 5D sales are starting to drop off now that Nikon has finally caught up with D200 back-orders... :D

I also expect to see a new model announced in Jan/Feb. That doesn't mean it will happen. I have no inside knowledge or anything, just speculating. Usually, when rebates get good, a new model is around the corner. At least on camera bodies. Not every time though.
