I got a chance to fire a strobe with my AB gold umbrella, wow does it cast warm. Whats the deal fire the key softbox and 1/3 less with the umbrella for just a touch of warmth. Signed; I should try it before I post it. But no room to try as yet.

Yep. If you find it too warm, you're going to have to turn it down until you're happy with the results. Trial and error at first, until you get it all setup (or move the studio and have to dial it in again :D). There's probably some rule that someone knows, but in the end I just like to see what I'm getting and dial in the settings accordingly. :)

In the day of film the gold umbrella was great to have. But with digital and post processing I see it going the way of the dinosaur.

Dont tell me that hehe I spent alot to get the silly thing from Nashville to Vancouver B.C. Your right pp does alot, my thoughts were get it as close as possible then a little pp. But as I learn more of Photoshop that might change.
Thanks.

I think you're on the right track, Dave. I always try to get things as close as I can out-of-camera, then PP to make them even better. :D

I can see it would be an advantage for you. I always pp since I don't have to make a living at it so I don't always take the workflow in consideration.

Just my way of thinking was to get warm skin tones out of the cam, pp it can be done yes but can be painfull also. I have not used it lately, going to move the family again so all is a right off for a year atleast, but others pros I know local do still use them and some filters, but these guys leave me in the dust, they say get the gear and they will help caugh, well I am not holding my breath.
