Just wondering what people are using to process their Pictures captured in Raw? I am currently using Photoshop but believe that there are other programs that will do it better. Would appreciate any advice/experience from other members!

I find the NEW ACR4 in Photoshop CS3 to be the best so far Rob...

Im using RSE, then photoshop. I like it but find it a little cumbersome. As I use RSE to convert to jpeg, PS to fine tune and yet another to catalogue and view them.
Id like to simplify that but as yet havent found anything.
PSE 5: tried and discarded
Lightroom: tried and discarded
DPP: tried and discarded
old ACR: tried and discarded
Id like to try a newer version of ACR but am not likekly to shell out for CS3.

I've been using RawShooterPremium for the last year to convert my RAW to tiffs which I then further process in Photoshop. I just installed CaptureOne thanks to the free offer from Sandisk. I had tried it a year ago and liked it but I only had the trial version. So I'm anxious to give it a go again.

I'm using RawShooter Premium because it's so easy to use, I like the results, and it keeps my photo's better organized. I'm going to try CS3, but I might stay with what I'm familiar with. My beef with RawShooter is that whenever you nudge the color, the picture blurs for a second. Repeated nudges really give the eyes a workout.

Being one of the increasingly rare Nikon users here, I do all my initial Raw processing in the very excellent Nikon Capture, then open up a converted Tif in PS. Nikon Capture is one reason why I would like to stay with Nikon...it's that good imho.

Robert, how do you like Capture compared to NX?

DPP is pretty dang good, took me a bit to catch on but really like it in my work flow, once i have the jpg or tiff then I move into CS2. I can get more out of my RAW files than just in CS2. I hear good upgrades in new CS3 but have yet to play with it

Rob, Adobe bought out Pixmantic (the inventors of RAW Shooters) so you will find that the tools in PSCS3 RAW converter ACR4 will be similar..
