I hope to capture the many planes in the museum next year when they're in the air. They are all flyers.

Robert, I would love to see these in the air. I really like the grid of planes as the background in the first and of course grumpy in the second!

Interesting subject, Robert. A job well done. Excellent exosure control. I live to the east of Toronto in Cobourg and often thought about finding out if there are any photo opportunities at tht Trenton Air Base. What did you use for lenses here?.

Great photos Robert. The Harvard is great with that lighting. I am in Oshawa and spent a few hundred hours in the air as a air weapons tech in the Navy. Always been interested in old war planes.

Great shots, Robert. I love the glimpse of sunset in the second shot. Really like the lighting in the first one.

Did you happen to hear about the unveiling of the Avro ARROW full sized replica at Downsview on Sunday? Unfortunately I missed it due to Thanksgiving dinner plans but would love to get up and see it. I have a family history attached to that plane. I also have a folder on my pbase site about it for anyone who's interested.

Jonathan,

If luck is with me I'll have some shots of these in the air next year. The plane decals on the wall are, I believe, memorials with the names of fallen WWII airforce personel.

Keith,

What are your memories? Are you a pilot?

Harvey,

Thanks for your compliments. I was concerned about exposure but most of the takes that day worked out. I used a 28-70 f2.8 for the entire time and I'm super pleased with the results. I'm still not that experienced with the lens and found it performed beyond my expectations. For Grumpy I used flash.
I think you'll find lots to shoot at Trenton. Good luck!!:)

Bobby,

Thanks for the lighting compliment. I was pleased when I saw this natural light through the window. I will hopefully have a few more to post in a while. :)

Mike,

Thanks for popping by. I am hoping to get some other shots processed, but as I said, there was little room to frame etc without a lot of background issues.

I'd suspect this venue would offer plenty of artistic close up kinds of shots, as well. I like that first one! :)

Sandra,

Thanks for your compliments on these two. I was pleased with the lighting on the first, and did a sky replacement on Grumpy.

I visited your Galleries and will return for an extended look...very nice work! Your Avro gallery is very interesting. At the Hamilton heritage, they have an Avro Arrow engine (not sure which one) which I photographed. What a shame the Avro plans were destroyed along with the planes in existance. I've always loved that plane and took some shots of models on display at the museum. I sure hope to see the replica just rolled out. It's too bad it doesn't fly. :)

Kevin,

It's interesting that you mention some close-ups, because I'm about to process some that I took. I'll post them here if they turn out ok! Thanks Kevin!:)
