Well just tonight I asked dad please take me picture taking I haven't gone picture taking in forever and Mitchell just went.So he said yes and we went to Peters friends place because he has a barn with little baby owls in the barn so dad said lets go in and see if there still there. But the barn was empty so we went back outside and dad saw only one baby owl at a distance. We kept trying different places to get the best shot mind you all of the sudden I hit somthing prickly it felt like a knife but any way we got some shots and when I came out of the bushes and my knee was a lumpy and swollen but it went away.So any way I am probably boring you so here is the photo! Not very clear hard to get a steady and focused while standing up better practice!!!:biglaugh:

Nice shot Delaney. We all have to pay attention to our surroundings when we are out in nature. I often forget to do that because I'm looking at the subject intensely. A couple of times I've backed up into a cactus!

Great shot Delaney. You guys have too many owls by you. You need to send some South to me. I found my first GHO nest this year and had a lot of fun shooting it. I like your title for this one.

I think you did a really good job on this Delaney! It's not always easy to focus on the bird when they're "hiding" behind the branches. I run into that a lot at Gatorland.

You needs a bunny when you got 7 hamsters LOL!!! Well I used to have a hamster his name was taz. Funny story short form...The girl at the pet store told us they were both female teddy bear hamsters(my brother mitchelll and I both got 1 hamster of our own) so 9 months later my brother waked up to go and grab a glass of water in the mean while he looked at the hamster cages and there was blood little noises and little naked things running around(that was my brothers discription)anyway so he is pound as loud as an elephant up the stairs runs into mom and dads room wakes up dad an he is like daddy daddy one of the hamsters is having babys dad didn't believe him at first then went down stairs while Mitchell woke me up(my brother) and dad told me to go and grab taz at the time though her(aka boy now we new)name was fluffy(later renamed tz for the boy name fluffy just wouldn't cutt it)and he said buddy is having babys so i grab taz and dad explained to me that taz would have eatin the babys(it is in the boys nature to do that but taz was harmless I don't think that he would have eaten them)anyway that day we got another cage for taz and we sold all the babys except one we gave my aunt you would now her as Ann the only all brown one she named him browny!!!(we kept taz and buddy my brothers hamster)... So that is the story in short form LOL well thanks again for the good luck thing but I really do hope that I get him(rabbit) so thanks!

I'm Kristin's Mom. We have 7 hamsters for the same reason. The pet store told use we had two males....well, we did not, and lo and behold, after a month or so, here comes 7 little ones! The kids gave two away and just couldn't part with the remaining 5.......they are dwarf hamsters and cute as can be, but they are a lot of work and their exercise wheels drive us all crazy....AT NIGHT! That's when they are the most active!

I shall give Kristin your note....she will love hearing this story ;)

Hi Delaney,

I think your Owl photo is awesome. It's wonderful how you captured him peeking through the branches and were able to maintain focus. I will look forward to more owl shots from you. I think you are very lucky, because I have never...I mean never ever seen a real owl in the wilds. I think that is sad, don't you?;(. So, that's why I will really be hoping you will capture some more owls and post them. :)

Delaney I just came across your post and I'm glad I caught it. I love the picture of the GHO baby. It's really well done. What I like as much is the story that goes with it. Your story added a lot of interest to the photograph. I also read every sentence of the hamster tale. Pixel is all about good pictures and personal experiences and you have captured them both many times. Keep it up girl I'll look forward to your next installment.
