This is a wider look at the Great Orion nebula and friends within an area called the sword of Orion. To the left of M42 is the Running Man Nebula. The reddish comma-shaped object connected to M42 is M43. There are other star clusters in the sword as well. Longer exposures of this region reveal enormous amounts of red nebulosity across the are seen here. This was taken with the takahashi Sky 90. Just the right FL for shots like this.
