To follow up on Rudi's fine panos - this image started off being over 10 feet long, and I whitled it down to 8 feet, and added some inches to the sky to give it balance. Taken handheld with D2x and 70-200vr. I'm very pleased with PSCS3's new photomerge feature.
This is a view of the Sandia Mountain and my village of Placitas in the foothills. I was returning from looking for the wild horses, when I saw the full moon rising as the sun was setting. Can you guess which is my house? Click on the image to see the full size.

Very impressive, David! My panos look much like the afterthought they really are (one day I will set out to actually take a pano, rather than just end up with one by accident :)). Just FYI, I have now linked larger versions for those interested. BTW, I _love_ the new Photomerge in CS3! :D
So, which one's your house?

Wow, David, your original is awesome. Looks like there are some beautiful homes in Placitas too.
No, I couldn't tell which was your house!

Thanks Rudi and Virginia. The capability of using PS3 with handheld shots makes panos much easier to accomplish on the fly. Just make sure that you keep the horizon (or verticals, depending on orientation) lined up, give up to 30% overlap in the images, and make sure focus is acquired for each shot, and presto!

David, typically I've been doing hand held panos on the fly, but I must say, after trying them with a tripod, there is no comparison. Panos done with a tripod are the way to go.

Thanks, David. Your "casita" looks lovely there on the hill.
Bet you have some great views too.
I had to go back to your original to see if I could find it there.
I guess that's the Real Estate Broker part of me coming out.
