Went to Melboune today (268km) from where I live and visited my camera store and they were kind enough to loan their hire out 1DMK3 for me to use for 4 days (for free as well as they normally charge $200 a day).

When I returned home tonight my son was trying out his costume for the fancy dress party this weekend and I took the oportunity to test drive the camera. Just a bit of fun and please do not take it too seriously. I have permission from my son to post this :-)

I am very impress with the flash photography on this camera. Picture looks better than any pictures taken with my 1dmk2 or 1dsmk2 when used with my 580ex. Lens used was 35L and ISO 400. Picture converted via CS3 and no sharpening at all. Slight brightness and saturation adjustment only

Which Camera store is that Perry? How do you like the Mark 3 ? I see you are happy with the flash pictures.

Hi Ellen,

I purchase all my gear from Baltronics and they mainly sell meduium format and high end gear. They are not cheap unless you form a good relationship with them. They load me the camera because I paind for the camera in full back in January, in fact I still have a credit of almost 300 after paying for the mk3 at the price they are charging me.

Yes I do like pictures taken with the 580 ex flash. I think it gives be a much better non flash looking result. Thats my view but i could be wrong though
