Since Eric posted some great shots of the Marince Corp Airbase air show I figured I would post some from the Chicago Air and Water Show earlier this year. Eric got the money shot of the Blue Angels crossing paths that I didn't get but I still think I got some nice shots. I still haven't processed the majority of the shots but maybe I'll get some more uploaded this week.

Thanks Lundrog! I was using the 300 f/4 with and without the Tamron 1.4TC for the Blue Angels and the jet skier I was using the 400 f/5.6 with the Tamron 1.4TC.

Thanks Kevin, I was just really lucky. They are moving so fast i was just trying to keep them all in the frame.

Well part of the day was sunny and had beautiful blue skies but the morning had a lot of clouds so the images of the other performers have some overcast skies. I'll post a couple more of other planes later tonight once I get home.

Hey Nick, nice shots you got there... It is very difficult to catch them crossing and if you do you only get one shot of it each time... even with very high shutter speeds...


I got the money shot a few times... I got two whacks at the Blue Angels this month... I was out in phoenix last week and the Blue Angels were out there as well... So made the trek out there on saturday and got more of the crossing solo planes... Have not processed them yet, but will get to them this week...

Good for you Eric! Can't wait to see your shots. I'd love to see the Blue Angels again. I think next year I might check out the Oshkosh airshow in Wisconsin.
