This roughed grouse photo demonstrates the downside of using a prime lens :).

Great shot, Ron. Sharp and detailed with super light. It looks to me like you inflated the poor thing. It looks like a beach ball. :biglaugh:

LOL Great shot! :)

Ron, your EXIF is stripped from this - have you started using "Save For Web"? If so, why???

Thanks, they puff up like that as part of their mating display but I don't know what set him off, I didn't see a hen around anywhere :).

A little bobbing of the tail didn't hurt this shot Ron. The detail in feathers is amazing. The pattern actually looks to be upside down.

I know you get some pretty cool weather way up north in Thunderbay, but can I hopefully assume that this was taken last winter and not last week? <Big Grin>

Wonderful detail as always, Ron.

I know the feeling... by the time you back up the shot is gone. Still, it's a great shot with wonderful detail and expression!

Well, Ron....since I don't have a clue as to what one is supposed to look like, I think this looks rather cute :)

Nice shot Ron. Looks like if he puffs up any more he'll take off
