I have not looked at portable hard drives for a long long while until I visited my local computer shop yesterday. Anyway I noticed they had a Lacie 120 gig Portable Firewire/USB hard drive for sale. I could not help myself :biglaugh: so I purchased it.

Well I am truely amazed at the size of the unit and the ease of instalation, just plug it in to the computer an it just operates. It comes with both USB and Firewire cable and software if you require to do auto backup. It also comes with a usb charger if your notebook's USB ports do not have enough power to run the device for one outlet. Basically you use 1 usb port to connect to the device and another usb port to charge it.

I connected to my Firewire port on my computer and it is reasonable fast. I am very impressed. Just sharing with anyone who requires a portable hard drive. BTW it comes with a soft carry case as well.

Here is a picture of unit. I took it next to my mobile phone just to provide you with the scale of the unit.
