Had a little time last night to put together a couple of PS actions for framing.
Would like some opinions please.

Like the frame and matteing Jeff. Juries out on the tag.

Both nice. Ditto for tag. ? about left inside frame and right outside frame..don't know about the different color borders.

Love the double matte.

Thanks Bobby I appreciate your input as always .. The tags are definitely a personal thing and are almost impossible to reproduce properly in an action.. The more I look at them the less likely I am to use them again..

Thanks Ann.. I appreciate your kind comments.

Thanks Mao I appreciate your input as well.
Tags are gonna go. The left inside frame and the right outside frame are created by the 3D effect added to the frame for realism. Too aggressive effect perhaps.?

Thanks again all for taking the time. Your opinions are well regarded and appreciated.

Once I get them nailed down I'll make them available to all..

Very nice, Jeff. The tag could work if there's a way you could make it metallic looking. I like your last version as well.

Thanks again Mao..

Thanks Kevin. The original plan for the tag was that the name look like its in a cut out through the top matte. The second version was to look metallic but still look as if it is beneath the top matte. The original version was green rather then gold. Turns out that trying to add tags in as part of an action is time consuming and not very user friendly. I like the clean look of the last one as well..

Jeff,

I like all your frames, and I think the tags are terrific. I like the way they appear to be cut into the mats, and think they would suit images that are perhaps in a series....flowers for instance, where the botanical names are included. I'm curious about how you made the tags. Can you give a brief description?
Nice work on these!!

I love the frames but not sure how I feel about the tags. Just a personal thing.

Thanks Robert, that was the intended look.
For a basic rectangle tag.
Basically after the frame and mattes are built you start a new blank layer. Use the rectangular marquis tool to draw a basic rectangle about the size for the tag you require. Fill the rectangle with a light gray. Now, using the rectangle marquis tool again, draw another rectangle inside the new gray rectangle leaving only a small gray border around it. Fill this new rectangle with the color you require for your tag backing. Now, select and merge the two rectangle layers. Once merged , go to layer styles and select Bevel and Emboss> choose Inner Bevel, Chisel Hard, direction Down. This will give the effect of a cut out. Now you can add a type layer on top for your Text.
For the fancier tags you have to add bits and pieces at the ends of the rectangle before using the layer styles.

I love the frames but not sure how I feel about the tags. Just a personal thing.

Thanks Harv I appreciate your input as always..
