little trick or workflow you include in your process that seems to help with your end result either for printing or web viewing..

Two things that help myself is one using Adobe CS and using the save for web, I tend to get the most by using this function in adobe. In past I used a couple FM actions for web sizing, but you loose allot of detail. Im sure there are better ways, but this seems to work well for me. the only down side is 1, it strips your exif, and #2 you have to save to file and bring it back in to CS to tweak and sharp for web which slow down the workflow. Why it wouldnt just convert right there so you can continue on....

Second thing I do is sharpen for web now using FM intellisharpener for the specific camera one shoots. Does a great job for printing, and as well for web viewing. You control it to your taste. I have to be careful not to over sharpen as it doesn take much. Tends to do a better job than just using unsharp mask, unless I want to do selective sharpening!

Now Im curious what others do to help the final result through PP!

Probably the one "trick" that I've added to my workflow is a double-sharpening pass after I've saved for web. I reopen the jpg, then go Filter->Unsharp mask. The first pass I use the settings 10/20/0, click ok. Do it a 2nd time Filter->Unsharp mask then 250/.2/0. The first pass seems to boost contrast (but be careful to not blow out your whites). The second is simply another sharpening pass.

Has made a tremendous difference. I created an action that does the above plus also adds my copyright/signature to the image as well.

Give it a try, Mike. You'll see how the image "pops". I learned it long ago from JPS on NC.

Keith do you sharpen first using USM and then if you post on the web a second sharpening with FM intellisharpener.

I must say that I am guilty of not caring how my internet photos look..

But the ones I print I don't know how I lived without Nik Colorefex 2.0 and Nik Sharpener, out of all the other software I tried, nothing comes close.. especially if you are like me and print from about 10 different printers ;)
