Heading off for Utah next week on a road trip (head south and turn right at Des Moines:brows:). We'll be staying in Moab UT and plan to explore both Arches and Canyonlands NPs.

I've checked the brochures and websites but anybody got any tips and favourite spots and good places to be at sunrise and sunset? We'll be spending some time in Colorado on the return trip as well.

This trip will mark a sort of milestone for us since we'll be visiting Nebraska, Colorado and Utah and as a result we'll have visited every state in the union with the exception of Hawaii :).

I'm no expert at this part of the world, but here is what I'm thinking:

SUNRISE - in bed with a hangover;

SUNSET - at the local beer garden, working on another one :biglaugh:

What do you think??? :D

The Rat (Eric) has been there, if I'm not mistaken, and can offer some suggestions. I'm not that familiar with the area but I'm anxious to see your goodies once you return. :)

Going to be a lot harder to find bars or a store that will even sell you beer on Sunday in Utah - I would stick to the simply gorgeous surroundings and photography!

Every state in the Union?

Ron, I would much rather spend more time in Colorado, but then again I was born there, and I love it there. My brother or other family members could probably give you some good spots to check out while you are there passing by. He made at least one 4 am trip out that I know of.
