Would appreciate some advice. Am looking for a new Light Meter & have looked at the Sekonic L-758DR. Have noticed that there appears to be different models on the web including the following:
L-758
L-758D
L-758DR
Yet looking at Sekonic website I can only see the last. Is anyone using these meters & if so what are your thoughts?
It would seem that the 758DR would be the one to go for. Interesting the difference in price comparing from the US to Australia is nearly double.:wacko:

maybe I am insane, but why do you need a light meter when your canon has a good one built in?

James. Am getting more & more into landscapes & want to accurately measure differences in light. A part from this I also own a Silvestri Panoramic film camera which I still use for landscapes.

I hope you know what you're getting yourself in with the top of the line Sekonic, Rob! :D I have the L-358 and love it to bits, I guess you're getting the L-758 for the spot-metering capability (for landscapes)?
Can't tell you what the differences are, but personally I would go with the DR, since that is the model shown on the Sekonic website, and is likely to be the latest model (in current production). If you can get a great deal on another L-758 model, I would contact Sekonic directly to find out what the differences might be. Good luck!

You're right Rudi. I guess I have made the investment into the gear & have been following some other landscape photographers & figure that the spot metering will be invaluable.:brows:

Cliff. They are advertising all three here in Australia yet the only one I can see in the US is the DR. A$ equivalent is under $600- whereas to buy here is $1,400-. I figured that the DR would be the best anyway
