Noise Ninja? Neat Image?
Bobby was going to post this thread but got dragged out to a movie by his wife. I decided I'd save him the trouble as he and I both have an interest in researching this.
Do any of you out there have experience with either or both of these products and be prepared to share your opinions?

Have used both, but to be honest Harv I seldom use either. Neat image seems to be easier to use, but Noise Ninja has more control. I really think either is good just your own personal preference as to which format you like best.

Well I have Neat image myself.. I use it on occasion, and it works quite well without softening up the original image too much...

Used Noise ninja a couple of times but after that, never again. Didn't feel the need to.

Used both. Prefer neat image for control and ease

Used both, settled on Noise Ninja. More control, I like it better. :)

I use noise Ninja works slick. Invest in a 1DM III you will never have to use noise reduction again:biggrin::biggrin:

I used Neat Image constantly with my Coolpix 4500 and also my D70, until I learned to shoot RAW, use a custom white balance, use a color correcting filter on my lens for daytime shots, use a better RAW processor, and be really aware of the histogram when I edit. Now I rarely use it, mostly if I messed up when taking the picture.

I use Neat Image and it has given me good results. But, nik software has an improved program called Dfine 2.0 and let me tell you, this program for noise is really, really good. It works off of the control point technology of NX and gives you an automatic mode, but then gives you full control over even the smallest area to control noise with using all sorts of parameters. You should have a look at it before you choose. www.niksoftware.com (http://www.niksoftware.com)

I used to use Noise Ninja with my 20d, 30d and 1DmkII, but ever since I had the 5D, 1DMkIIn (lets see what the 40d brings) I really haven't used it, except for some modeling and portrait shots for skin smoothing (the paintbrush tool is AWESOME!)
