I spent some time last Saturday(before this past) on The Rosette Nebula. I was racing the rising Moon very close to it but managed 30 minutes of exposure time. This is a very large nebula. It was shot at 407mm and I've only cropped a tiny bit from the bottom of the frame to remove the 20D mirror shadow. I shot this one again this past Saturday(minus the Moon) and got an hour and a half of exposure time. I'll post that soon when I get it processed.

20D • Takahashi Sky 90 II • Losmandy G-11 • IDAS Light Pollution Filter • Stiletto for focus.

I was thinking the same thing Keith said. I've already been thinking about it, which is the first step before going on line to check to see how much the goods are.....

Outstanding results. I suspect this is not that easy to do. I'm looking forward to more ...

Another beautiful shot. Thanks for posting these. They remind me that not all the great beauty in nature is right in front of us.

Thanks everyone.

There are inexpensive(relatively) ways of having fun shooting the night sky. From the start I was always wanting to see and capture more. And there'a ALWAYs more, and lots of it. :-)
