It's good to be a Mac owner these days. cool; I am good for now, though, don't need a new laptop, my MacBook is cruising just fine. :)

I'm about to get the Pro 15" and a 23-24" LCD. These things are blistering fast, can't wait.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Waiting for Leopard to come out, so I can save a little over a hundred bucks by buying a brand new Mac! slap; Seriously! In my case, I'm thinking the 24" iMac, and next to it my 24" Dell LCD, as a second monitor. The G5 PowerMac will remain as network storage and file server (maybe put a couple of 750GB HDDs in it) :)

I'll find out when Leopard comes out. cool; :D
I used to have a two-monitor setup when I had smaller monitors, but think that it would be VERY handy with two 24-inchers! The photo on one screen, with all the Photoshop tools on the other. OR... web browser and email on one screen, work on the other. :D

Very nice plan Rudi. I'm looking at the Dell 24" High def. LCD. How do you like your Dell monitor? The Apples look nice but are they really better for the extra cash? I'll keep my G-4 tower for storage when I add another 250gb HD to it.

I have a 23" ACD and a 21" viewsonic on my Quad G5. They work great. For normal things I keep mail open on one and safari on the other. For photo editing there are many combinations of set ups that work great to enhance work flow.
My Macbook pro 17" is used for field work editing on aperture and I always export all of that work over to the G5 when I return home so the MPB stays clean and fast. No files are stored on it.

I like it! I used to have a 19" Samsung LCD that I loved to bits, but it was getting "small", so I ended up getting the 24" Dell. I am just as happy with the Dell as I was with the Samsung (and Samsung are known for great flat panels!).
I've never owned an ACD... :(

I like my 13.3" MacBook for travel. No serious editing gets done on it (well, in a push), and I prefer the smaller factor for a portable rig (used to have the 12" iBook, actually still do! :D).
All my monitors (desktop and laptop) are calibrated, it's just that the desktop monitor is way more accurate and has a much wider viewing angle latitude than the laptops...
Anyone want to buy an iBook in great shape (with bag, etc)? 1.2GHz G4, 768MB RAM, 80GB HDD... :)

That brings up a good point, all of my monitors are calibrated by the same device (GM eye one display) including my laptop at the same time each month. So the editing done on the MPB matches when moved to the G5.

Dave, are you going to use the GM to calibrate the screen on the new macbook that just came out :D :D
