What was your first digital camera??? This was mine... the Kodak DC200 Plus:

I never bought this as a "serious" camera. This was a bit of a novelty, and I only intended to use it for snapshots (which I did). I used my film cameras for any serious work, but the seed was planted. About a year or so later I bought my first "serious" digital, the Nikon Coolpix 990, which I did use for paying work occasionally. After that I bought the ground-breaker - the EOS D30! That was it! That was the camera that made me give up film altogether eventually! That did not happen until I owned the 10D, but the writing was on the wall from that time.
It was a lucky coincidence that I was already using EOS film cameras at the time, so there was no need for an expensive lens buying frenzy. It happened anyway, since digital showed me the shortcomings of my lenses at 100% magnification in Photoshop real quick! And I stopped using UV filters for lens protection, since I also noticed some image quality degradation that I just did not notice with film (I never looked at film that closely, I don't think anyone did!).
BTW, the Kodak exhibited some pretty horrendous image compression and the shutter lag was glacial compared to even the worst of today's point-and-shoots. But it DID have one megapixel of resolution! Some of my best memories were captured using this camera! :)
Yep. Digital re-ignited a passion for photography for me, one that was long dormant. At the time of my first digital purchase, photography was just a job to me, one that I enjoyed, but I tended not to do any photography FOR MYSELF! While the Kodak DC200 Plus did not change that much, the Nikon Coolpix 990 certainly did!
If you count my mobile phone handsets, I am now on my 10th digital camera !!! Let's see:
1. Kodak DC200 Plus (1MP)
2. Nikon Coolpix 990 (3MP)
3. Canon EOS D30 (3MP)
4. Canon Digital IXUS (2MP)
5. Canon EOS 10D (6MP)
6. Nokia 6225 camera phone (0.3MP)
7. Canon A85 (4MP)
8. Canon EOS 5D (12MP)
9. Nokia N70 camera phone (2MP)
10. Fuji Finepix F30 (6MP)
Hmmmm... even without the phone handsets, we're talking EIGHT cameras here!
