I have a speedlight 430EX and I was wondering what I can buy to attach to it to help spread the light more evenly. Since I am new to flash I thought I would ask.

need to better understand, what are you trying to light up as there are many different applications depending on what you want to shoot?
I use a Gary Fong lightsphere II and it works extremely well for even lightingI have a speedlight 430EX and I was wondering what I can buy to attach to it to help spread the light more evenly. Since I am new to flash I thought I would ask.

Sto-Fen OmniBounce for me :)-
I've tried some of the Lumiquest bouncers, and considered the Lastolite softboxes, but the OmniBounce was, so far the easiest to use, and just as good (when used as per the instructions). Some swear by the gary Fong diffusers, but I have yet to try one. There are several other diffusers on the market, and all claim to do better than all the others, but, well... you have to stop somewhere! I stopped at the OmniBounce after trying a couple of others as well. :)

I have always wanted to try one of these: http://www.joedembphotography.com/flipit/
I have seen threads on other forums where they rave about these and the results that you can get from them. I would consider these. The Stofen does work best if you still have a ceiling to bounce from - this Flip It system would be good when you do not have any ceiling or one that is too high to be useful.

That's the one! I've seen some impressive results from that diffuser.
That said, I think it's a misconception that you still need a ceiling to bounce the light when using an OmniBounce. You don't!
Either way, all of these diffusers are add-ons, and still a bit of a compromise. Each one will be best at one particular thing, but will not excel in all situations.

The newest Flip-It pack also comes with a diffuser attachment as well....check into that at the website that I posted.

Nope! I'm done with flash modifiers (for on-camera flash). I only use flash when I absolutely have to, and then I do it very carefully. I will save my money and buy some red wine instead - I have several flash diffusers lying about, and only use the OmniBounce (and not that often). :)

Well, Lundrog may find that link and diffuser useful hopefully since he was asking the question.

That makes perfect sense! :) Sorry, was under the impression that your reply was directed at me. Even though you were replying to me, it was directed at Lundrog. Duh! :o

I also use the Gary Fong Lightsphere II and it works well but it is quite large and looks like you jammed a piece of tupperware on your flash. The Omnibounce is the most portable, you can fit it in your pocket.

Anyone have any reviews or links for any of these?

Well, I like the Sto-Fen OmniBounce, and that is the link I sent you. You have to buy the one that fits your flash head, otherwise it's straight forward - it just slips over the front of your flash, no velcro or other attachments necessary. I like it. :)

It states it right in the link you provided :) Personally the omni bounce is great for carry round, works better bouncing the light than direct. For direct, I much prefer the lightsphere II , but bigger and bulkier
The Omni-Bounce creates a diffused bare bulb effect, giving even coverage across the entire frame, with lenses from 15mm to 200mm in the 35mm format (and equal in other formats as well). The Omni-Bounce is easy to use and slips onto and off the flash in seconds with custom fitting and no need for touch fastener. Designed for years of service without the bulk of some other diffusers, it is small enough to fit easily into a gadget bag or pocket.
