Went to a local nursery that has a Butterfly Encounter. It was stifling hot in there and I could only manage to tolerate it for an hour and a half. Anxious to go back when it's cooler. Now I need to look up the species. rolleyes;

Holy Cow what a series Kevin. They're great. The first one is easy and a Monarch and it's look alike is also well known. It's a Viceroy. The others? Not a clue.

4th one looks like a Giant Swallowtail. The last one is a Zebra Longwing

Thanks everyone! I think I got them mostly identified. I always get confused between Monarchs and Viceroys. Still haven't found out the little green guy and the 2nd to last one (which was very tiny). That 2nd to last one was interesting to watch because at first I couldn't make out which end was the front and which was the back. On the back end, he was wiggling those little appendages.

Beautiful series, Kevin. The swallowtail gets my vote.

Thanks Harv. I was really trying to get a decent shot of the Swallowtail. Those little buggers didn't want to cooperate. But I finally found one. :) Thanks for looking and commenting. :)
