During the early morning hours while waiting for the fog to lift off Marin, I'd drive around sipping on my Sawbucks coffee and to this day, still mad that I couldn't find a parking spot on a busy intersection where they had a rose garden.

Anyway, these are what I managed to photograph. Ummm, I didn't bring my macro lens with me on this trip, so, I used the next best thing available to me, the 500 mm. with a 1.4 attached :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

I'm using a new framing action and hopefully I haven't butchered the effect.

These are really nice and refreshing change Mao! With shots like these who needs a macro lens? Very well done!

I like the framing, well, most of them. Care to share what actions they are?

Regards,
Jonathan

Super shots. You're my friend so I can tell you the truth and not have to agree with other posters. I don't like the frames. I find them too hokey. I'd keep them simple. But then again, that's me and not you. How about some flowers in flight?

Thanks Virginia. Had to do something while waiting at the Presidio. Well, I'm fooling around with some of the frames, some good, others so so.

Very nice, Mao! Interesting macro setup... :D

Thanks Rudi, I'm trying to travel with less:biggrin:

Thanks Jonathan. The framing software is from www.ononesoftware.com. There's only a few of them that I like. It came as part of a plug in suite that I bought. After using their frame I found it a bit bland so I put another frame on top of that:biglaugh:

Thanks. Pardon my aging, I can never remember if you're Mike. Sorry.

Thanks Ann. Sometimes I do shoot other stuff too! lol.

Very nice series, Mao. The flowers are quite beautiful.

Thanks David.

No problem sensei. I do like some but not all of them. Just experimenting with them.

Flowers in flight? Hmmmm. now, that's an idea to work on!:biglaugh:

Love your macro work Mao, I'd dump everything but the 500, keep it simple. Seeing what you have done with that lens makes the rest redundant. Really like the posterization. To frame or not to frame, that is the question.

There is no doubt now, or ever, that you've been hanging around Virginia. These practically have her signature all over them. I simply love the first framed shot. That is so unique and so pleasing to look at. I think you've done exceedingly well Mao.

Thanks Rob. One of these days I'll get it right.

Thanks buddy. Yeah, next trip, just one tele and one wide angle and that's it. Oh yeah, one shirt, one pant, one pair underwear and so on and so on. :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

Nice work Mao and, like you, about the frames, some I like and some I don't. The flowers are all beautiful though and that's exactly why they don't need the distraction of the more busy frames. Still refreshing though and I could see myself using some of these types of frames for certain shots and ya never know until ya try!! WTG0
