It's plain to see why, Ron. If I were to get down that low I'd need someone to pick me off the ground!! :-) BTW, both nice pictures...the one on display and the one in the making.

Don't know if it was worth the trouble though :). These are shaggy mane mushrooms and the sprout up every year at this time under my crab apple tree.

Well worth the trouble! An excellent shot, in my not so humble opinion. I see you have magic apples. They aren't in the first shot, and show up in the second. Might these be the world famous Murillo Magic Mushrooms?

Ron, in the first shot, on the top of the camera. What sort of flash arrangement is that?

LOL no I gathered a few fallen crab apples to add colour to the composition :).

What sort of flash arrangement is that?No flash, thats my Manfrotto Grip Ball Head (http://www.manfrotto.com/Jahia/site/manfrotto/cache/off/pid/2319?livid=80%7C81&idx=83) , the camera is suspended from the reversed center post on my tripod. It's actually the bottom of the camera :)

Who took the picture of you Ron? That's a great shot. The comp in the actual Shaggy Mane shot is pretty darn good too. Don't you just love Sheldon's response? He's never short on words, that man.

The camera hanging upside down!

Oh there are days I wish I'd just used my eyes and hadn't looked like such a boob asking.

Ah well, at least I'm among friends here.

Cheers, Sheldon (who is worrying someone at the University of Alberta will see this thread and they'll ask for their degree back)

Thanks Joe, the picture of me is a self portrait shot using the timer :).

Hmmmm.... Live Preview or Right Angle viewfinder? Gee, which would be the more exciting option?! :err:

Actually you would be better off with a Right Angle finder instead.. works better...

Not in this case, the hard part here is getting my big head between the tripod legs without upsetting the apple cart making it necessary to lay belly down in the dirt, I'd still have to do this with a right angle viewer. This was a whole lot easier with my old point and shoot :).

Great photo Ron;
I've been playing with shooting from a laptop.
Shooting from the computer with live view really looks interesting.
You can view the image at large size on the computer and you can focus from the computer. It gives very fine control.

great shots! I wonder, since the camera was upside down when you took the picture, then it would be upside down. That could be an interesting image if left upside down and you could convince people it was on the underside of a bank or such.. :)

Thanks Bill. Yes I've used Live Capture both outside and in my studio with the camera tethered to a laptop, the idea of having live preview on the laptop appeals to me. I plan to upgrade either to a Mk III or a 40D next spring and use the WFT E2A/E3A wireless transmitter as well.

Thanks, LOL, the camera's auto rotate function works when it's upside down rotating the pictures 180° :).
