That's what I was afraid of with the Sony sensor. Those of the booth just don't look so good. At ISO400 the detail is already missing, then it just gets worse.

The white shots with the cup don't look too bad.

My thoughts too. I am not sure how noise should be evaluated, i.e. a scene with the two extremes of highlight and shadow as in the booth shot, or the shot of just the cup where the lighting condition is more even.

Unfortunately, it looks like the Sony sensor just isn't holding up to a current generation CMOS sensor. Too bad, really. That said, I think we need to wait until there are cameras in the hands of the masses, to get a proper evaluation...
